Product Purchased: BLACK LEATHER BELT CLIP CASE+PROTECTOR FOR APPLE IPHONE (300217552882)

Product As Advertised: Yes
Shipped Quickly: Yes
Customer Service: Great

This is a generic leather pouch for pretty much any phone, but it definitely is an excellent choice for an iPhone, especially if your phone is contained in a gel.

My iPhone is wrapped in a gel with a “T” on the back that you can use to store your earphone cables, so it’s about twice as wide as a normal iPhone. It fits snugly into the case; with a standard gel, you’ll have plenty of room.

The thing I also like about this case is that in addition to a sturdy leather-covered metal belt clip, it has a leather loop that snaps onto the top, providing extra security to ensure the case doesn’t come off your belt.

It’s real leather, the front is fairly rigid; in short, I don’t understand how they can sell this thing for 99 cents, but it’s well worth the investment.

Ordered Monday, received Friday. It even came with a bonus screen protector and polishing cloth.

It looks from colordrives’ feedback that they have the typical customer service problems of many Power Sellers, but I couldn’t be happier with this transaction and would definitely use them again.

Adobe Creative Suite 3 Automatic Updates And Windows Vista Issues

So your operating system is Windows Vista, you have one of the Adobe Creative Suite 3 (CS3) packages and you’re browsing the Web.

You notice a message pop up above the task bar: Adobe Updater has updates to install. So you click on the message to see the updates, then click the install button.

But shortly after, Updater starts reporting installation problems. Trying to re-install the updates doesn’t work. Asking it to move on and install additional updates only causes more errors. Nothing gets patched and you just wind up irritated.

What went wrong? Several things, which are the faults of both Adobe and Microsoft. Fortunately, these problems are relatively easy to fix.

Product Purchased: Flying Buffalo - Nuclear War 40th Anniversary Deluxe Ed (120244560366)

Product As Advertised: Yes
Shipped Quickly: Yes
Customer Service: Great

“Nuclear War” by Flying Buffalo is a very fun game to play. It’s basically a card game with a spinner thrown in for good measure; and it plays like Gin Rummy, Monopoly and The Game Of Life all put together. It’s a blast, no pun intended.

Considering that Flying Buffalo sells this same set for about $60, getting this for about half that price was a pretty good deal. In fact, I’m starting to think I may buy a second set: Keep this one sealed and play the other.

Shipped quickly. I half expected this item to be opened, but it was still in shrink. A great purchase and I recommend this vendor highly.

Product Purchased: Avalon Hill General Wooden Ships Reference DVD for game (110241012776)

Product As Advertised: Yes
Shipped Quickly: Yes
Customer Service: Bad

This is a CD with PDF files on it: The rulebook; the counters; the mapboard; and various articles from the General magazine, covering the Wooden Ships & Iron Men game.

It’s definitely worth the $15 investment to have these materials in electronic format, fully searchable in Acrobat Reader.

I have one objection against this vendor: He added me to an e-mail list without my permission, which is a violation of eBay’s policies. He was extremely cavalier about my request to be removed from the list, as well, although he did eventually remove me.

The experience was negative enough so that it deserves mention. I doubt I will use this vendor again.

Product Purchased: Avalon Hill Game Wooden Ships & Iron Men Sealed 1975 (140222128083)

Product As Advertised: Yes
Shipped Quickly: Yes
Customer Service: Great

I was prepared for this item to cost a lot more than the $41 I spent for it; used copies of Wooden Ships & Iron Men sell on eBay for about $30.

The item wasn’t as pristine as advertised — the shrink wrap is actually darkened and scuffed up — but it’s close enough for my purposes and well worth what I spent. Further, it was very well packed, double-boxed, and shipped quickly.

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from this vendor again.
