I went to Wal-Mart for these batteries. They don’t carry them. I went to Radio Shack, which advertised itself as the authoritative supplier of batteries, looking for these. They don’t carry them in the store, but you can buy them on Radio Shack’s Web site for $5 each.
I am a genius, but you don’t need to be one to figure out that $5 for a watch battery that’s half the size of a penny is ludicrous.
So I went to the one place everyone goes when they can’t find it elsewhere at a reasonable price: eBay. And sure enough, here is this vendor selling five Energizer CR1225 watch batteries for $6. Yes, that’s right, for slightly more than the price Radio Shack will sell me one battery, this guy will sell me five. And give me free shipping!
Ordered late Wednesday, received Monday. Couldn’t be happier. Next time I need watch batteries, I’m heading to eBay, and this vendor, first.

The item was well-described and the auction photos were clear. It was represented as having “all original components”, but the rulebook and part of the “Flight Jacket” addendum are relatively poor-quality photocopies stapled together.
However, I seem to remember that Avalon Hill occasionally shipped stapled photocopies as actual rules, especially as it was nearing the end of its run. Maybe that’s a false memory, but I can’t prove the rules / addendum aren’t original to the game; they’ll be fine for what I need; and everything else shipped was original and as described.
Overall, a fine purchase. I would probably buy from these folks again.

I had previously purchased a still-in-shrink copy of this game, and when I saw this auction’s end closing in fast with a bid of only $9, I decided to see if a $10 bid would win it. Clearly, it did.
Shipped quickly in packing peanuts and a sturdy box; the seller clearly took a loss on shipping costs, which is a refreshing change of pace on eBay.
(In spite of eBay’s abortive excessive shipping costs policy, we all have stories about paying $12 for shipping, then seeing a postmark for $4.17 on the package. And we all know that trying to get eBay to declare any shipping cost “excessive” is beyond futile.)
The game was in great shape and, as he said, had clearly been played sparingly. I plan to use it much more.
A great deal for me. I highly recommend this seller.
